Congratulations to Colorado Select player Lyndsey Fry and former Select player Jordan Slavin (University of North Dakota)! Lyndsey and Jordan have been named to the
USA Women’s Under – 18 National Team and will compete against Canada and other
teams from around the world as defending world champions!

The 16AAA team took first place at Districts and will advance to Nationals. The 19AA team played a great weekend of hockey and took 2nd place at the Tier II District Tournament.

Congratulations to our 12A, 14A and 19A teams on a weekend of great play in the MSGHL Playoffs. All three teams played exciting games against their opponents. Our 14A team had a great 1-0 win against Sante Fe. The 12A team played in the consolation game which ended in a 0-0 tie against Aspen. Goalie Madison Patten had 36 saves! The 19A team also made it to consolation game and took 3rd place.

Congratulations to Lillian Johnson, 12AAA team, for winning the coffee sales contest. Lillian sold 22 lbs of coffee during the contest period. She will receive a $50 Visa gift card from Gizzi's Coffee recognizing her for her efforts. Way to go Lilly!

Select alumni and current member of the University of Minnesota women’s hockey
team junior forward Emily West has been nominated for the 2010 Patty Kazmaier
Memorial Award.
A
total of 45 players have been nominated for the 2010 Patty Kazmaier Memorial
Award, presented annually to the top player in women's college hockey, it was
announced today by USA Hockey.

Congrats to the 19AAA team for signing up the most "Friends of the Select". In second place was the 12AAA team. Both teams will be enjoying some free ice time at the Pepsi Center in March!
Thank you to all of our new "Friends of Select Girls Hockey".
The Colorado Select would also like to say a big THANK YOU to the Pepsi Center for donating the ice and their support of Girls Hockey in Colorado.

 Many thanks to all the players, coaches, parents, and Select Board Members who helped out this Saturday for the Hockey Weekend Across America's One Goal. We hosted a "girls" only One Goal and had 39 participants. Our special guests, Natalie Darwitz and Jinelle Zaugg from the USA Women's Olympic Hockey team commented on how great it was to see so much help both on and off the ice. Thanks again for supporting this program and the Colorado Select!

Our
16AAs want to send a big THANKS to the Telluride U19 team for the extraordinary
sportsmanship they showed last weekend. After we defeated the local team on
their home ice 4 to 1 (followed by a 3 to 0 victory for us the next morning),
they insisted on treating all of us to pizza at a local hot spot.

Congratulations to the 14AAA team for winning the Championship this weekend in San Jose. The team went undefeated in their four tough, physical games in pool play earning a spot in the championship game against the Anaheim Lady Ducks. Once again, the 14AAA team stood strong and made the Select proud by winning the championship game 2-1. GREAT JOB GIRLS!
