Many thanks to all the players, coaches, parents, and Select Board Members who helped out this Saturday for the Hockey Weekend Across America's One Goal. We hosted a "girls" only One Goal and had 39 participants. Our special guests, Natalie Darwitz and Jinelle Zaugg from the USA Women's Olympic Hockey team commented on how great it was to see so much help both on and off the ice. Thanks again for supporting this program and the Colorado Select!

Our
16AAs want to send a big THANKS to the Telluride U19 team for the extraordinary
sportsmanship they showed last weekend. After we defeated the local team on
their home ice 4 to 1 (followed by a 3 to 0 victory for us the next morning),
they insisted on treating all of us to pizza at a local hot spot.

Congratulations to the 14AAA team for winning the Championship this weekend in San Jose. The team went undefeated in their four tough, physical games in pool play earning a spot in the championship game against the Anaheim Lady Ducks. Once again, the 14AAA team stood strong and made the Select proud by winning the championship game 2-1. GREAT JOB GIRLS!

We're in the final half of our season and things are going very well. Our
winter alumni game was exciting to watch but I think the U19AAA team was in a
bit more serious playing mode than the alumni girls who are more into having a
good time with old friends. I've been able to feed my hockey habit by watching
some local Select games, DU hockey, Center Ice on Directv, and either traveling
to Wisconsin or watching a choppy internet feed to see my daughter's college
games.

We are completing the first decade of Colorado Select Girls
Hockey, (Established 2000), and we have a lot to look back on and be proud of
in connection with this association.
Sunday afternoon December 20, 2009 marked another
great day in the history of the Select.
It was another great turnout both by the Alumni and the fans in the
stands!

Thanks to all the volunteers who made the Qwest Tour Game this past weekend a success. There were a lot of blue jerseys seen around the Magness Arena. Our very own, Ms. Halter sang the National Anthem, our U8's showed off their skills on the ice, and Jordon Nicholson along with Madison Patten got to entertain the crowd with their shooting skills.
USA Hockey was impressed with how our Organization stepped up to make this game a success in Denver.
